Does extra time count in football bets?

Short answer

Usually not. At the bookmakers whose general football rule we could confirm (Sky Bet, Paddy Power, William Hill and BoyleSports), bets settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage time, and extra time and penalties only count where the market says so, such as "to qualify" or "to lift the trophy". One exception we found: bet365's goalscorer markets include extra time if it is played.

What "90 minutes" means

It means the full 90 minutes plus any stoppage or injury time the referee adds at the end of each half. A goal in the 94th minute of a league match counts. A goal in the 105th minute of a cup tie, in extra time, does not, unless your market includes extra time.
