Europa League betting rules: does extra time count?
Short answer
Not for standard bets. At the bookmakers whose general rule we could confirm, Europa League bets settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Under UEFA's 2026/27 rules, a knockout tie level on aggregate after the second leg goes to 30 minutes of extra time and then penalties, but those only count on markets such as to qualify or to lift the trophy.

The rules that matter in the Europa League
90 minutes in every match
Match result bets settle on the score after 90 minutes plus stoppage time in each match, in the league phase and the knockouts. A knockout second leg that is level after 90 minutes settles as a draw.

To qualify markets include both legs, extra time and penalties, and settle on the team that goes through. In the final, to lift the trophy works the same way.

Sky Bet and Betfred say bet builder legs settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage time unless the market includes extra time. Unibet settles each part under that market's own rule, and some Unibet player markets include extra time. Worth checking before a knockout second leg.

If a Europa League match is postponed, the bookmaker's postponed window applies, as for any other match. In an acca, a void leg usually drops out and the rest runs on.

What a level score after 90 minutes means for your bet
Say a round of 16 second leg ends 1-1 after 90 minutes, the aggregate is level, and the home team wins on penalties. A bet on the draw in that match wins, and bets on either team to win the match lose. A to qualify bet on the home team wins, because they went through. Correct score and total goals bets settle on the 1-1 too, at the bookmakers whose general rule we could confirm.
Two legs: each match is its own bet
A match result bet on a first leg settles on that match alone, so a level first leg is a draw and there is no extra time on the night. In the second leg, match result bets settle on that match's 90-minute score, even if one team is already through on aggregate. A to qualify bet covers both legs, extra time and penalties, and stays open until the tie is decided.
