What happens to a Betfred bet builder if a player doesn't play?
Short answer
The whole bet is void. Betfred's football rules say that if any selection in a Bet Builder is void, or a player in the bet takes no part in the match, the entire Bet Builder is made void. Bet Builders settle on 90 minutes plus injury time unless the bet says it includes extra time and penalties. Checked 19 Oct 2026.

Betfred Bet Builder rules in brief
- Available on selected leagues and matches only.
- Settled on 90 minutes plus injury time. Extra time and penalties count only if the bet says so.
- If any selection is void, or a player in the bet takes no part in the match, the whole bet is void.
- Maximum payout of £25,000 per customer per bet.
- Double Delight and Hat-Trick Heaven do not apply to Bet Builder selections.
If the match is abandoned or postponed
- Abandoned: selections already decided, such as the half-time result or first team to score, stand. Everything else is void, whatever the score was.
- Betfred treats a match as abandoned if it does not reach its natural end by midnight local time. A temporary stoppage that resumes before midnight is not an abandonment.
- Postponed or halted for more than 48 hours: the bet is void. Rescheduled within 48 hours: the bet stands at the new start time.
Popular and Boosted Bet Builders
- Betfred's ready-made Popular and Boosted Bet Builders follow the same void rule.
- They are singles only, with one to five markets from a single match.
- They are not eligible for Cash Out.
- The maximum payout is £5,000 per customer per bet, lower than the £25,000 on a Bet Builder you make yourself.
