What happens to a Betfred bet if the match is postponed or abandoned?
Short answer
Your bet stands if the match is played within 48 hours of the original date and time. If it isn't, the bet is void, and in an acca that leg is removed and the rest of the bet stands. First goalscorer bets stand once the first goal has been scored, and half-time bets stand once the first half is completed. From Betfred's football rules, checked 19 Oct 2026.

Rearranged means played 10 or more days away from the rest of its matchweek. Some moves are announced weeks ahead for cup ties or TV, so not every one would void a bet placed later.
On 17 Oct 2026, League One had 9 matches and League Two had 2 matches listed as postponed and waiting for a new date.

Postponed and abandoned matches
- Played within 48 hours of the original fixture date and time: all bets stand.
- Not played within 48 hours: bets on the match are void.
- First goalscorer bets stand if the first goal was scored before the match was abandoned.
- Half-time bets stand if the first half was completed.
- Many markets stand after an abandonment if their result was already decided. Each market has its own rule in Betfred's terms.
In an acca
A void leg is removed and the acca settles on the remaining selections. Betfred's rules for enhanced (boosted) doubles, trebles and accas say a postponed or abandoned match makes the bet revert to the last available match result odds for the remaining selections.
Change of venue
Bets stand if the venue changes, unless the change makes the away team the home team. Then all selections on that match are void.
Bet Builders have their own rule
- Abandoned: selections already decided stand and everything else is void, whatever the score.
- A match that does not reach its natural end by midnight local time counts as abandoned.
- Postponed or halted for more than 48 hours: void. Rescheduled within 48 hours: the bet carries over to the new start time.
Acca Flex and voids
If voids take an Acca Flex accumulator below 5 legs, it no longer qualifies for the stake back or the extra payment on winnings.
